S.Papers will be selected based upon extended abstracts, in English, of about 1000 words in length. The abstracts, typed double spaced, should state clearly the purpose, results and conclusions with supporting figures as appropriate. Allreference to units and dimensions should be in SI units. Five copies of the abstracts should be submitted. PUBLICATION.Those authors whose abstracts have been accepted will be required to supply a manuscript typed on matsand acceptable for reproduction. Bound copies of all papers will be presented to those attending the symposium. DEADLINES. A Review of the Dynamics of Cavitating Pumps
This paper presents a review of some of the recent developments in our understanding of the dynamics and instabilities caused by cavitation in pumps. Focus is placed on presently available data for the transfer functions for cavitating pumps and inducers, particularly on the compliance and mass flow gain factor, which are so critical for pump and system stability. The resonant frequency for cav...
متن کاملCloud Cavitation with Particular Attention to Pumps
In many cavitating liquid flows, when the number and concentration of the bubbles exceeds some critical level, the flow becomes unsteady and large clouds of cavitating bubbles are periodically formed and then collapse when convected into regions of higher pressure. This phenomenon is known as cloud cavitation and when it occurs it is almost always associated with a substantial increase in the c...
متن کاملInfluence of Afterbody and Boundary Layer on Cavitating Flow
The characteristics of a cavitation water tunnel test setup and the experiments of cavitation around different models are given in this paper. Models of test are formed from combination of head and variable length afterbody. The experiments are performed initially with the smooth head and then with the roughened head. Cavitation initiates both in the wake and after the head. If the nose of mode...

متن کاملInfluence of High Strain Rates on the Mechanical Behavior of High-Manganese Steels
In this work, dynamic mechanical properties of three high-manganese steels with TRIP/TWIP or fully TWIP characteristics are studied. High strain rate experiments in the range of true strain rates between ~500 and 1800 /s are conducted using a dynamic torsional testing setup. All the three steels show a positive strain rate sensitivity in the intermediate range of strain rates (up to 500 /s). Bu...
